SDJF Concludes Successful Annual General Meeting 2024

The Sri Lanka Development Journalist Forum (SDJF) convened its Annual General Meeting on 30th November 2024 at its office in Rajagiriya. The meeting, attended by members of the Board of Directors (BoD) and key stakeholders, highlighted the organization’s significant progress and laid the groundwork for future endeavors. BoD Coordinator, Mr. Asjain Wahid, presented a detailed report on SDJF’s accomplishments and ongoing projects from May 2023 to October 2024, with the Annual Reports made accessible to the public through the organization’s website.
A key highlight of the meeting was the official announcement of staff promotions by Co-Chairperson Dr. Samantha Rathnayake. Mr. Asjain Wahid was promoted to Director of Finance & Administration / U.S. Embassy Grants Programs, and Mr. Azad was elevated to Senior Program Director, with promotions taking effect from 16th October 2024. The discussion also emphasized the importance of diversifying funding sources by identifying new donors and focusing on sustainable development projects. To ensure stronger collaboration, members agreed to circulate proposal summaries among BoD members for feedback before submission, while monthly progress reporting will be introduced starting January 2025.
The meeting concluded with Co-Chairpersons Dr. Rathnayake and Dr. Darshana Ashoka Kumara expressing their gratitude to all participants. Official photographs of the BoD members were taken to mark the occasion, symbolizing SDJF’s commitment to transparency, teamwork, and its vision of empowering communities through innovative media and development initiatives.
