Membership Registration


Membership

We invite enthusiastic journalists, University and College students, postgraduate students, Master's and PhD degree holders, and academic professionals and social scientists to become members of SDJF. SDJF members are eligible to participate in appropriate training and capacity development programs conducted and coordinated by SDJF. Full or partial sponsorships are offered to selected members to attend national and international seminars and conferences. SDJF works closely with various international media development organizations and any opportunity offered to SDJF by such organizations for training and development would be given to paid members. All paid members can vote and contest in the annual general meeting for Sri Lanka Community Media forums. Membership categories include:

  1. Student Membership
  2. Journalist Membership
  3. Academic Membership


Student members

A Student membership holder must be a high school student, an undergraduate, or a postgraduate in a field related to Media and Communication. They are able to participate in training programs, discussions, seminars and workshops conducted by the SDJF. Members in this category can get organizational publications at concessionary rates and are allowed to use the SDJF library free of charge. This membership is annually renewable. Annual membership fee is Rs.500.00.


Journalist members

Journalist membership is open for the working journalists, media artists, and media trainers. Journalist members will be given priority to attend training programs, discussions, seminars and workshops conducted by SDJF. Annual membership fee is Rs.750.00. Life membership fee is Rs. 4500.00.


Academic members

Working or retired academic professionals and scientists from universities, higher education institutions, and research and development organizations come under this category. They will be given priority with regard to the training programmes, discussions, seminars and workshops in their fields. Annual membership fee is Rs.750/=. Life membership fee is Rs. 4500.00.
