Ruwan Bogamuwa

Senior Programme Producer

Ruwan Bogamuwa is a Bachelor of Arts graduate from University of Colombo with a Second Class honors’ degree in Sinhala and Journalism (2003). Since 2017 Ruwan has been working at Sri Lanka Development Journalist Forum as a Senior Program Producer. He has experience in the field of media as a TV journalist since 2002. Ruwan has received both local and international trainings on Radio & Television program productions and on Script-writing. Prior to joining SDJF, he worked as the senior television program producer at Young Asia Television (YATV 2002-2013). During his career at YATV, Ruwan had worked his way up from the position of assistant Television Program Producer to that of Senior Program Producer with added responsibilities. As an organization specialized in social communication he had produced several Documentaries, Magazine Programs, Talk Shows, News and Promotional Programs jointly with the INGOs, focusing on women’s rights, Domestic Violence, Development issues, Post War Development, Safety of Journalists etc. 

Ruwan has gained a lot of experience as an Executive TV Program Producer, Studio live Programs, Youth Programs, Live-to-tape Programs, Outdoor live Productions including out bound Productions, Scriptwriting and Channel Promotion Campaign at Sirasa TV (2013-2014). During his career Ruwan has worked as Director Production at Sharp Angle (pvt) ltd (2015 -2017), which is a media production house with expertise on AV productions, Public Relations, Brand Communications including promotional campaigns. Ruwan has also served as a visiting lecturer at the Department of Communication & Media Studies (2011-2012) and the Institute of Human Resource Advancement (IHRA 2013 – 2015) of University of Colombo.
