InSPIRE Modules: Gender in New Media

InSPIRE Modules: Facilitating Learning through Creative Expression

Four modules under the four topics, Digital Citizenship, Freedom of Expression, Gender in New Media and Right to Information (in English language) have been already developed and released to universities to facilitate learning among young and upcoming media and communication professionals. These modules have been developed through an intensive process that involved a gap analysis in the curricula in the universities. InSPIRE Modules are specifically aimed at developing capacities of the undergraduates in the selected four universities, while the e-versions of these modules are provided for use as an open source to benefit the general public.

Incubator Spaces for Promoting Information Rights and Freedom of Expression (InSPIRE) project aims at facilitating learning among the young and upcoming media and communication professionals from four universities, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, University of Jaffna, University of Peradeniya and South Eastern University, by providing them with specialized learning modules which include the study topics that are not covered in the university syllabus. InSPIRE, implemented by HELVETAS Intercooperation gGmbH in partnership with Sri Lanka Development Journalist Forum (SDJF), is an initiative funded by the European Union.
