Dr. Samantha Rathnayake Joins SDJF as a New Member of the Board of Directors

Sri Lanka Development Journalist Forum management, staff and its beneficiaries warmly welcome Dr. Samantha Rathnayake, who was appointed as a new Board Member of SDJF in the combined General Meeting of the Members and Board of Directors held on 17th February,2021.

Dr. Samantha Rathnayake has graduated from the University of Kelaniya with a special degree in HRM, an MBA from PIM, and a Ph.D. from Infrastructure University of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He holds Certified Professional Marketer – (Asia), Practicing Marketer (Sri Lanka) status, and a Certified Human Resource Development Auditor from TVRLS, India. Dr. Rathnayake is a regular speaker, panelist, moderator, reviewer, and Human Resource Development trainer in many International conferences and institutions.

He counts over 20 years of management and learning solutions experience in diverse sectors including the Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nations (UN FAO), the ICICI Bank India, the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), and the Sri Lanka Foundation (SLF). He serves as a faculty member/management consultant at the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura since 2016.

At the Sri Lanka Foundation, during 2012-2015, he was the Chairperson of the Board of Examiners and was on the Board of Study. He was the Director of Studies of the Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development during 2012-2014. At the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Sri Lanka, he has contributed as the Co-Chairman of Great Human Resource Practices-2017 and the Chairman of Great HR Practices–2018. Dr. Rathnayake has served as a Co-Chairman of the International Symposium of the Innovative Banking organized by the Bank of Ceylon, Sri Lanka 2019-20. He is a governing council member of the Charttered Institute of Professional Managers since 2016.

At present, he serves in the following engagements;

• The Chairman and a Member of the Panel of Judges to evaluate the Entrepreneur of the Year (SLEOTY) competition organized by the Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) since 2016
• An Editorial Advisory Board Member of bi-annual Journal “Global Management Review (GMR)” of the Sona School of Management, India
• A Member of Editorial Advisory Board of the Nepalese Journal of Finance and Nepalese Journal of Economics of Uniglobe College affiliated to Pokhara University, Nepal
• A Member of International Advisory Board of Nepalese Hospitality of Tourism Management, Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management, Nepal
• Board of Director – Sri Lanka Development Journalist Forum.

SDJF is honored to have Dr. Samantha Rathnayake on board to drive the organization with its mission and we are sure his experience and skills will strengthen and boost our energy in achieving our tasks.
