Media For Gender Equality And Justice

Media for Gender Equality and Justice

As an organization committed to promoting social justice and inclusive development in Sri Lanka, SDJF recognizes the critical role of media and communication in advancing gender equality, promoting Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and addressing violence against women and girls, including online and technology-facilitated abuse. We are particularly concerned about the protection and realization of SRHR in the context of increasing climate-related disasters, floods, displacement, and other humanitarian challenges, which disproportionately affect women and girls. At the same time, the growing prevalence of online abuse, cyber harassment, and digital violence continues to undermine the safety, participation, and well-being of women and young girls. Through media advocacy, public awareness campaigns, storytelling, and media literacy initiatives, SDJF works to amplify women's voices, challenge harmful social norms, promote safe and inclusive digital spaces, and foster informed public dialogue that advances gender equality, justice, and the rights of women and girls.
